Cameron, age 7

Some of you may know that Cameron was recently diagnosed with Henoch-Schonlein-Purpura, an illness which causes extensive bruising on the inside and outside of the body, with joint pain and edema as well. Cameron has been really good-natured through it all (though he did NOT like being at the hospital!), as I've helped him with routine tasks that have suddenly become difficult - getting dressed, walking, etc. Tonight as I was helping him into bed, he said, "Mom, thanks for all the help you've been giving me. It's been a big help." (Gotta document the rare times you hear this kind of thing from your children!)

  1. Keri, I am so sorry to hear about Cameron, I actually had the same illness in 1st grade. I don't remember a whole lot other than it being very painful, multiple trips to Primary Children's, and having to drop out of t-ball and soccer. Please know that there is someone who truly understands what he is going through and will keep him in our prayers. Love, Jon Amundson

  2. Keri, give Cam hugs from us! I'm curious to know if it follows a genetic line, since Marty had this as a kid. Also, kudos for recording tender moments of thanks from the kids that we do so much for! It must have made your week!
